Web Ads for Fictional Movie
These web ads are for a fictional movie. I used three separate royalty free images (two from Death to the Stock Photo and one from Stock Snap). I used photos of people turning away from the viewer because I wanted them to be facing the road and the adventure that the fictional characters are about to embark upon.
The top ad is a billboard and the second is a filmstrip. I started each by selecting photos and opening them in Photoshop. I then made my selections and used arrange > workspace > 2 Up to move them into the document. I used a layer mask to edit the selections so that I would have smooth edges.
For the billboard, I selected the landscape image using the marquee tool and went to select > refine edge and adjusted the feather and shift edge, then chose "output to layer mask." For the filmstrip, I did the same process with the grey rectangle.
I added an inner shadow and inner glow to each person to make them look like they are in the environment.
I chose the grey of the rectangle to resemble pavement and applied a pattern overlay to give it the texture of pavement. I added the text and adjusted the blending mode to make the text look like it is painted on the road. I then added a picture of trees, transformed it to appear more in perspective like the text, and adjusted the opacity, fill, and blending mode so it would appear more like shadows.
